Arriving October 2

Grain of Sand

Six minutes on scale and attention, opening on a spoken passage with no drums and building into a drum and bass surge. The low end stays centred and physical while the vocal fragments around it.

About the track

Grain of Sand is about the gap between how urgent something feels and how much it actually matters. It opens by listing the things that are not emergencies, spends two verses inside the feed that makes them feel like they are, and resolves on a mantra rather than an answer: control what you can, let the rest burn out.

It is the most direct record HEATSOAK has made about machines, and it deliberately refuses the easy ending. The last chorus does not say the game stopped mattering, it says the choice of how to play it came back.

Grain of Sand is a standalone single and is not part of Ritual Static. Written, directed, sequenced and released by Trevin Hermosillo. Vocals and instrumentation are AI performed under his direction, which is declared in the release metadata. More on that in About.
