Take Your Time

The slowest record HEATSOAK has made, and the least anxious. A low end that never rushes, a vocal that keeps stopping mid sentence, and a chorus that asks for more time rather than less.

About the track

Most of this catalog is about speed. Take Your Time is the one that puts the watch down. It is built out of small domestic detail, a shirt riding up an inch, a hand straightening a collar and then loosening it, a thumb smoothing the crease between someone's eyebrows. The beat stays under everything and never once pushes.

The turn comes late, in a line about mistaking a lot of being loved for something small. After that the last chorus changes one word, from "I have been giving it to everything" to "now I am giving it to you", and the song ends on a watch left beside the sink.

Take Your Time is a standalone single and is not part of Ritual Static. Written, directed, sequenced and released by Trevin Hermosillo. Vocals and instrumentation are AI performed under his direction, which is declared in the release metadata. More on that in About.
